On October 21-22, 2014 there was a regular meeting of the project “Be-Safe – Belarusian Road Safety Network” participants of the program Tempus (Project Number: 544181-TEMPUS-1-2013-1-IT-TEMPUS-JPCR) concerning the issues of coordination and willingness of Belarusian universities to learn the second stage (Master’s degree program) according to the training programs developed in local universities in spring of 2014 within the project.
The following people were at the seminar: Gabriele Giustiniani (CTL), StergiosMavromatis (NTUA), Vladimir Grabaurov, Aliaksandr Bakhanovich(BNTU), Siarhei Azemsha, Anatoli Mikhalchenka, Siarhei Skirkouski (BelSUT), Vasili Shuts (BrSTU), Aleksandr Tsygankow, Volha Yarchak(BSEU), as well as Master’s degree students of BNTU.
During the meeting they discussed the following issues: recruitment of Master’s degree students for training programs in local universities; arrangement of their training, including the development of a range of lectures for the academic disciplines of the curricula in the Master’s degree programs; arrangement of practical training (internship) in the second semester of 2014-2015 academic year; registration of the project “Be-Safe- Belarusian Road Safety Network” in the Republic of Belarus; support and filling in the project website; informing the public about the project and interaction with the media.
Following the results of the two-day seminar the participants noted that all activities sripulated by the project work plan were carried out in time: Belarusian universities had developed and approved in a timely manner the curricula (programs) for training of the second stage of higher education “Road Safety” in the practice-oriented Master’s degree program (May -June 2014), in July 2014 Master’s degree students were recruited (BNTU - 5 people, BelSUT -10 people, BrSTU - 5 people, BSEU -3 people), Belarusian professors were trained in the partner universities CTL, NTUA, Loughborough (July, September 2014), curricula (July - September 2014) were developed for all academic disciplines (Master’s degree programs), tasks for seminary classes and individual Master’s degree students work were prepared.
The final part of the meeting, the project participants approved the action program of the partners for the second half of the academic year 2014-2015 and made a collective picture.
